Over the last several years there have been many questions in regards to development of the adjacent land to the Daybreak Community Center (DCC). Now that the Daybreak Community Association (HOA) is purchasing the DCC many residents wonder if the land will be used for an outdoor pool as previously discussed.

DCCThe DCC was constructed by Kennecott Land back in 2004 when the community was established. The plan was that as the community matured and the HOA stabalized, then the DCC would transfer from Kennecot Land into the hands of the HOA. There is enough land to build a swimming pool on about a third of the 1 acres site adjacent to the DCC. However; with the repercussions of the recession the plans for a pool were put on hold until the economy recovered.

FHA loan limits have increased! The FHA loan limits went from $304,500 to $312,800 in Salt Lake County. What dose this mean to buyers and sellers? If you buy in Salt Lake County with an FHA loan purchase price (typically putting down 3.5%) this makes your â€‹purchase power increase from last year approximately $8,000.

Something for Sellers to keep in mind: if you list your home for $325,000-$440,000 you are only making your home available to buyers that are able to put 5% down (this price range is above the 3.5% down FHA limit). However;  if you list at $325,000 you then add a plethora of buyers to your purchasing pool by including 5% down buyers AND 3.5% down buyers. This makes your home an option for many more buyers and your ability to sell that

What not to ask when selling your home: "What is my home worth?" or "What will my home appraise for?"  This is not the right way to understand the value of your home. An appraisal is an estimate of value or to put it more simply; one person's opinion of the value of your home. As we all know that opinion is not necessarily fact, it's important to know that there is no such thing as an absolute number that your home is worth

Here's what happened to one seller of mine. The buyer's appraisal of their home came in $70,000 below list price. Yikes! After hiring 3 different appraisers on the same house all 3 came back with very different "opinions" of value. After 2 weeks of convincing the banks, the buyers, and the REALTORS, I was able to sell the home for

What new businesses are coming to South Jordan in the Oquirrh Mountain Marketplace.

South Jordan is sure growing. The recent increase in "brick and mortar" businesses is providing job opportunities and a healthy local economy. Sometimes with so much growth there are growing pains, such as construction.

People say I'm crazy when I say I'm grateful for construction, but it is a sign that people are working, and our city is growing. It is up to us to be patient with each other while our city grows.

You've seen the construction at 11400 S on the west side of Bangerter Highway. So what are we getting? The signs have gone up, and this shopping complex will be called Oquirrh Mountain Marketplace. This business development will provide a lot of

For years, South Jordan residents and city officials have been petitioning for a COSTCO store in South Jordan.

There is even a Facebook page (created in October of 2010) for gathering interest in the project. By the end of that month they already had 1000 followers! They also posted that, "today we heard a little rumor of not "if" but "when"..." Three years later there is still no COSTCO, but the Facebook page has gathered over 1900 followers. There was also a petition started which has accumulated over 200 signatures.

Recently, the newly elected Mayor of South Jordan promised on his website: "I will close the deal with COSTCO and give them just enough incentive to finally open in South Jordan."

Then this news was
