Ginormous Pumpkin Regatta Returns to Daybreak 

Every October, Utah traditions bloom with hayrides, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches, but nothing compares to the sight of neighbors paddling across Oquirrh Lake inside massive pumpkins. On Saturday, October 18th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Ginormous Pumpkin Regatta returns to Daybreak’s North Shore for its 14th year. The event has become a fall staple, drawing thousands to watch the spectacle of giant gourds turned into boats, along with races that blend creativity, comedy, and a healthy dose of chaos.

Newly released data from the 2020 Census Bureau shows some significant growth across the state of Utah and more specifically, the city of South Jordan.  Comparatively speaking, South Jordan still remains the least populated city in Utah with 77,487 residents, but since the last census in 2010, SOJO has gained 27,069 people, a 54% increase.  Here's how a few other Utah cities fared: Salt Lake City, which remains the most populated city, grew by 13,283; West Jordan surpassed Provo to claim the 3rd most populated city with 116,961 residents (1% growth); St. George knocked Ogden out of the 7th position by gaining 22,445 residents for a total population of 95,341.  The Bureau also named St. George metro as the 3rd fastest growing in the U.S.  According to the…

Say hello to South Jordan's Station 64!  Located in Daybreak at 5443 W Lake Ave, this new facility will house the fire department, police station, and will also include offices for city administration, utility billing, and space for meetings for the community.  The official ribbon cutting is scheduled for July 20th so come support our public service workers and staff!  They provide a great service to our city and Daybreak community!

Heights Park Village is getting a new park in 2021! Located near Kestrel Rise Rd and Split Rock Dr, Basin Park will be another unique open space for Daybreak Residents and their guests to enjoy. It will be one of the last parks to complete this village. This park will feature more walking trails, native vegetation,  a couple of large grassy areas for play, and an artistic flare with a deconstructed tipi, picnic area, and lighting for ambiance at night. According to USA Today, South Jordan is among the top 50 cities in America to live in.  A contributing factor in South Jordan achieving this status is the rapid growth of Daybreak, attracting 400+ new residents a year.   Once completed, Daybreak will nearly double the size of South Jordan, which currently has just over 69,000 residents.   Other factors include the 4.1% poverty rate and 3.0% unemployment rate.  What does this mean for those looking to buy or sell in the 84009?
