Party On!

   Save the date...this time, it's for the kids!  The Daybreak Community Center is hosting a New Year's Eve Celebration, or rather, a Noon-Year's Eve Celebration for all the little ones to bid adieu to 2017!  On December 30th, from 10:30am - 12:00pm, the DCC will transform the gym at Eastlake Elementary into a children's paradise filled with party favors, confetti, Jack's Donuts, animal riders, games, and music!  When the clock strikes noon, hundreds of balloons will drop to ring in the new Year!

Tickets are required to attend the Noon-Year's Eve Celebration.  Children 2 years of age and younger are free; 3 years of age and older are $3.00 each.  Get your tickets at the Daybreak Community Center or online HERE.

The latest 411 on the 84009

According to USA Today, South Jordan is among the top 50 cities in America to live in.  A contributing factor in South Jordan achieving this status is the rapid growth of Daybreak, attracting 400+ new residents a year.   Once completed, Daybreak will nearly double the size of South Jordan, which currently has just over 69,000 residents.   Other factors include the 4.1% poverty rate and 3.0% unemployment rate.  What does this mean for those looking to buy or sell in the 84009? According to the Salt Lake Board of Realtors' third quarter statistics, South Jordan ranked number 9 out of 10 for most expensive zip codes along the Wasatch Front.  The average price for a home in South Jordan is $441,592, a hike of 8% compared to last year's third quarter stats. …

Dig It or Ditch It?

Large scale wallpapers are a hot trend in interior design this year.  They are fairly simple to install and depending upon the size of the room and the style you choose, they can be an inexpensive update to your space. What The ?

Have you ever been driving around the Creekside Neighborhood in Daybreak and noticed these rather tall poles sticking straight out of the ground and said to yourself, "What The ?" From a distance one might wonder if they are Totem Poles, power poles, awkward landscaping, or maybe even some landscaping gone wrong?  Actually these poles are designed with the sole purpose of tying up hammocks and relaxing the day away!  If the poles weren't enough to make you say, "What The ?", the name of the park where you'll find these hammock poles is called Ewok Park...another "What The ?"

Pumpkin Regatta

Major road closures leading into and around Daybreak didn't slow down the 400 spectators (plus a few four legged ones) that attended the Pumpkin Regatta on October 21st. If you happened to miss this annual event, here are some facts that will make your eye balls pop!

• 14 Ginormous Pumpkins registered for the regatta
• Pumpkins ranged in size from 200-992 pounds
• Furthest pumpkin came from Idaho, closest pumpkin was grown right here in Daybreak  
• The Pumpkin Regatta attracted 3 local news stations.   Channel 4 actually featured the event if you want to view it
