Cut Water Bill by $1,000!?

One thing to take into consideration when buying a home is your appliances. Whether you are looking to reduce your impact on the environment or just trying to save money on your utility bill, energy efficient appliances can make a huge difference. One engineer took water conservation to a whole new level with his OrbSys closed-loop shower.

Did you know that when you shower you use 7 gallons of water every minute! Not only that but the water has to be continuously heated because the warm water is pouring down the drain. Swedish industrial designer, Mehrdad Mahdjoubi, designed a shower that conserves water and energy with the same efficiency as the space station. The shower is on a closed-loop so the water goes into the drain, through a filtration system that cleans the water to drinking quality, then cycles it back through the shower head.

Want to know how much this shower could save YOU on utilities? Check out the savings calculator here.
The shower isn't available for residential use yet, but it shows just how much you can save on utilities. There are many options available to reduce your utilities while you wait for this shower to arrive in your home. There are still rebates available to help you update your utilities to energy saving ones.
When buying a home remember to think about what it will be like living int he home. What will your utilities be? How long will the current appliances last? These are all questions we can help you evaluate when you buy a home.
Knowing which upgrades will increase the value of your home is also vital information we can provide. When it comes time to selling your home some appliances are automatically included and others are up for negotiation. Make sure you have proper representation to protect your interests when selling your home.
