Covid-19 had a huge impact on home improvement projects and the real estate market in 2020, so it is not surprising that the paint trends chosen for 2021 were also influenced by the pandemic. PPG Paints chose three tones that reflect a "natural and serene" environment to promote a sense of calm to a space.  Sherwin Williams' Urbane Bronze also taps into nature with its warm charcoal/gray hue that infuses "tranquility" into a space.  Benjamin Moore chose a cooler color of the year with Aegean Teal to help bring about a balance between "soothing and inviting".  Pantone proved to us that gray paint is not going anywhere...at least for another year. They chose Ultimate Gray and Illuminating to showcase how two very different tones can come together! While all these tones are drastically different from the rich and deep jewel tones we have seen in recent years, they all have one thing in common...nature!  If 2020 has taught us anything, it's that being out in nature brings about a sense of calmness. It restores our energy, grounds us, refocuses our minds and helps us prepare for another day.  All of these tones are neutral enough to be used in a variety of spaces so whether you're working from the dining room, formal living room, or you have a designated home office, there colors are sure to help balance your need for work and home life.
